Background:
The idea is to empower the disabled community and the
quadriplegics to enable them to earn a living for themselves, view the outside environment
and participate in the daily activities Drones were first introduced in 2006,
first developed for military purposes and since then they have been on the
horizon used for photography and videography and now for transport (passenger
drones).
Incorporating drones in and delivering Packages, urban
survey mapping, town planning, spraying on crops, seeding the crops, aerial
photography, film making cam make the task easier and let us be productive.
Filling
the Gap.
As many economies are still on the way to incorporate
drones in their different industries. Although the market size use of drones
for other than military purposes is estimated at $17 billion in America alone.
China is also using drones for tourism and emergency responses.
As unmanned aircrafts (drones) require la dedicated
pilot on the ground to monitor the drone's movements is demanding job and requires
training. It is an emerging job and disabled people with not being qualified
for normal jobs can be trained and helped to take up this job, so they can be
of help to their family.
Another purpose is to enable paralyzed patients who cannot
very easily move from place to place to their view external surroundings as
they are one get bored and to look at the fan and roof. With the help of a
drone controlled through mouth or another person as operator and google glass
live transmitting the footage, so the patients can experience flight.
Apart from these economic benefits, drones. can also
be used to experience the daily life activities. A man named Islander James
confined to a wheelchair, which happened when he was 15 years old. But, the for
37-year-old, operating drones have become a hobby through which he can
experience the sea, and also make money if out of it. He operates the drones
with the help of his mouth and is now a licensed commercial drone pilot. Now,
he hopes to sell his captured images which are captured through his DJI
Maverick pro drone.
Idea
behind the Project:
Simply, the project will help disabled people get jobs
as drone operators, can experience the outside of their rooms and getting the experience
flight.
HandiDrone is a french initiative where they train them with a slightly modified drones and urges main drone manufacturing companies to produce the drones with specific modifications so they are best suited to their needs.
Possible outcomes of the Project.
The
integration of drones in different aspects of live can have the following
benefits and advantages.
- The disabled community will be able to qualify for the emerging job of drone Operators.
- The paralyzed patient life will be a bit colorful, as they will be able to view their surroundings through the flying drone.
- Food delivery can be easily done to remote areas and with low cost through airways. One such project is initiated by foodpanda in Pakistan, you can read about that here.
Conclusion:
If
properly implemented, this project will have many opportunities for the unprivileged
of society. In this modern-tech world, be it advance machines or drones, every product has it’s own benefits and limitations. Verily, drones helped humans to a considerable extent. Helping and facilitating disabled community and the quadriplegics or using in the military purposes, drones are widely used for wide spectrum of purposes. Most interestingly using it for the recreation of handicapped patients is an amazing idea, since they will learn to operate drones, it will definitely help them to be alleviated from the unemployed section.
